3/How to install the program
Once you have installed CCleaner you can open the application by either:
1. Double-clicking the CCleaner desktop icon
or
2. Clicking on Start Menu -> Programs -> CCleaner
or
3. Right-clicking on the Recycle Bin and selecting "Open CCleaner..."
Note: There is also a "Run CCleaner" option on the Recycle Bin menu, which will clean your system without any prompts. But we recommend you don't do this until you have familiarized yourself with the program and its options.
CCleaner has four main sections which can be selected using the big icons on the left-hand navigation panel.
Cleaner
This is the main feature of the program, which will allow you to optimize your system by removing unused and temporary files.
(It's important to point out that it does this without removing any files you'll still need!)
Registry
This is a more advanced feature which analyzes your computer's registry and fixes any problems that exist. (The registry is where Windows stores system settings.)
Tools
This section allows you to view and manage Installed Programs, check the applications that run at Start Up and also manage and remove System Restore points.
Options
The Options section handles all the settings for how CCleaner runs.
To run the cleaner and optimize your computer, it's a simple case of just clicking the Run Cleaner button.
If you'd like to see what is going to be removed first (before deleting anything) then click on the Analyze button.
The output window above the buttons will display a summary of the analysis or cleaning process. You can double-click on any of these items to view a detailed file list.
